Ecaterina is the first Slummer allowed into Furui City.

 

In 1020 she delivered a perfect Supertask in front of the Furui City Commmittee and was thus granted access into the glass dome. Ecaterina - then only 20 years old - was a precocious genius child who hoped for a research lab and the resources necessary to find a cure for an uncurable disease: The Devil's Headache - that was growing inside her tormenting phaetus at the time. By giving the Committee what they wanted, she hoped to serve her own interests. However, her Supertask - a lab-generated child capable of generating its own organs (an organ harvesting machine) in order for the Furui City inhabitants to perform transplants and preserve their health - fails and runs away. Faced with this problem, the Furui City Committee came up with an abominable back-up plan and named Ecaterina in charge of it as punishment for her failed Supertask.

 

Trapped in Furui City, Ecaterina spends all her days working at her fluorescent lighted desk. Her sleep is poor and restless. She compulsively drinks the rejuvenating drink BABYBUTT-skin to keep her youthful appearance. Her little boy no longer with her, and forced to perform odious surgeries, Ecaterina's heart became numb. 

 

However her lackey Mr. Berbek gives her some life-changing news: there is word that her Supertask lab child might still be running around in the Slums of Caihong City. This could mean two things: that finding it would put an end to the alternative survival plan of Furui City, and that her boy might still be alive...
